Getting to Montevideo by
air
Montevideo International
Airport (Aeropuerto de Carrasco, Montevideo) is situated
approximately 35 minutes from the city centre.

To get to and from Montevideo Airport:
Bus
The public bus departs approx. every 15 minutes in front of the airport.
You must buy your ticket on board. Please note that the bus only takes
Uruguayan pesos. The trip takes 55 minutes, ending at the bus terminal,
Rio Branco.
There are also private bus companies, COT and COPSA,
which stop by the airport every half hour. This is a slightly faster
option but costs a little more.
Pluna/Varig Transfer
There is a free bus service from the airport to the centre (near Radisson
Montevideo Hotel) for all passengers flying with Pluna
or Varig
Airline, just showing your flight ticket to the Pluna/Varig office
in the Departures Hall.
Taxi
There is a taxi rank right outside the airport. A taxi to the centre
costs approximately US $30, although it is possible to arrange the price
beforehand. Dollars and Uruguayan pesos are both accepted.

Getting to Montevideo by ferry
From Buenos Aires
Buquebus
Company runs a daily ferry service between Buenos Aires and Montevideo.
The trip takes 2.5 to 3 hours and there are 3 to 4 services daily. The
ferry arrives in the port of Montevideo. A tourist return costs approximately
US $120.
